Oak Hill "Star" Employees

January 2007

Susan Kohner, Unit Secretary
Susan joined the Same Day Surgery Department of Oak Hill Hospital in 2006 as a Unit Secretary where she greets patients, assembles charts and enters all the lab work, keeps the operating room schedule flowing and assists nurses with a wide range of other non-clerical tasks. She and her husband Keith live in Spring Hill. They have a 21 year old daughter, Laura. Susan has developed a reputation for being courteous with patients and family and for treating everyone, “with enormous respect under extreme circumstances.”

Scott DeJanes, Environmental Services Tech II
Scott has been with HCA since December of 2002 and joined Oak Hill Hospital in October 2005. Scott works as an Environmental Services Tech II (EVS Tech II) where he’s responsible for insuring the cleanliness of the operating rooms, i.e., cleaning, periodic scrubbing waxing and buffing in all the surgical areas. Scott lives in Spring Hill. His family consists of his mother, Mary Young, who lives in Brooksville, his grandmother, Virginia Gagne, who also lives in Brooksville and his uncle and aunt, Bob and Pam Gagne, who live in Hernando Beach. Scott’s nomination spoke of a specific incident on October 20 where he came to work on OR floors and the nursing supervisor needed one of the ICU rooms cleaned immediately. “Scott was kind enough to clean the room for me right away,” she said. “Because of Scott’s quick and efficient work, we were able to move a patient from the emergency department to ICU,” she added.

Carmen Rosado, RN Pediatrics
Carmen joined Oak Hill Hospital’s pediatric department in 1993 and has been there ever since. She lives in Spring Hill. Her family consists of her mother, Carmen, and her brothers Justin and James Rosado. Carmen is regarded as “excellent…wonderful…” She received one nomination from a patient’s mother who stated that, “she put my son’s IV in so professionally and checked on him constantly.” This is always a tribute when compliments come from parents of our tiniest patients.
